The Found Theater presents Tales at the Philly Fringe Festival

After last year’s provocative production of Something With Wings, Felipe Vergara and the Found Theater Company return to the Philadelphia Live-Arts Fringe Festival with a new set of questions, ideologies, and directions with Tales. This year the company will attempt to find out why we tell stories. What is it about the narrative that has been so influential to our society? Why have stories affected our lives so much?

Tales is loosely based on Ovid’s Tristia, an ancient story of the poet’s journey into exile. Found cast members, with Felipe, have adapted the text while weaving in personal stories. By allowing the audiences to move organically through the piece, the emotional stakes are raised. Using music, dance, and poetic dialogue, Tales’ avant-garde nature creates a new way one can look at theatre and, in turn, storytelling.
